foggy sunset

date night last week was a picnic on the cliffs for a foggy sunset!
just a sweet evening all around!

it was dave's idea to hit the coast with a basket of snacks.
the weather had been beautiful for a few days last week, so it was perfect!

and yes there were hang gliders flying right over our heads

(im thankful he didn't spit on me....the hang glider, not dave!)

quick trip

on thursday evening we tossed the idea back and forth...
do we go?
do we stay?
will we be tired?
will we start the week rested?
will re wish we had if we hadn't?
luckily. we made the right decision!
we make a quick trip to chico for the weekend!!
we both had to work on friday, so we left the bay around 6pm arriving at the parents house around 10pm.
im so glad we made the trip, it was a lot of driving simply to be there for all day saturday and part of the day on sunday...but oh so worth it!
we spent saturday golfing (them, not me) and then the four of us cooked an early dinner together.
(dave did the steak, mom did the mushrooms and salad, i did the garlic potatoes and dad poured the drinks!)
it was delicious, and wonderful.

sunday i ran 9 miles with kristy (in less than 90 minutes!)
and then we celebrated her birthday with some coffee...dave was on a bike ride and stopped by to say hi...then he spent the afternoon with grandma watching football:)
i wrapped up my chico time getting a pedicure with my mom!

it was good to get out of town
it was good to spend family time together
it was good to get an 8 hour car ride with my husband
i am so thankful we did it:)

cream

we had a wonderful night out with friends....dinner at jupiter, followed by dessert at cream

we had a fabulous evening!

i wish cream was located on this side of the bay...it'd be a hit!
you choose 2 warm cookies
(mix and match, to get the best of maybe two you can't decide upon)
you choose your ice cream.
they sandwich it together for you.
you hand them $2 (tax included!...no need for change)
then walk out to the packed sidewalk to enjoy your sandwich amongst everyone else who loves this little corner treat!

(i chose one snickerdoodle and one double chocolate chip cookies with mint ice cream...heaven!)
im looking forward to going back!
with more friends, so more can enjoy the deliciousness!

8 years

8 years...or 2920 days...417 weeks.

thats how much time i am celebrating i have been with a certain little company.

hard to believe its been that long...almost been a full decade!!
ohmy!
i might be biased, but my little company makes the best soy lattes ever!
(hot or iced....you can't go wrong)
last week on my day off dave took me to brunch, and i had to get my soy latte to accompany my morning meal...side by side with my peach mimosa and chipolte potatoes!

here's to 8 more!

brunch and giants

two sundays ago (wow! this week has flown by)
we had a lazy sunday morning
took the train into the city
got a soy latte
went to brunch at ironside
(delish! great food, bottomless specialty mimosas, and i loved the potatoes!)

after our brunch we went to the giants game

and ran into some friends...which is always awesome!

dave said he'll take me to the cliff house for our next brunch in the city! can't wait!

a friday afternoon

i had today off and dave had a half day of work, so for the afternoon, we went on part-hike part-run
we choose a specific trail/path, that would allow us to stop by the brother-in-law's shop to say hi.
and yes, we ran that path!

dave ran the stairs....

and then took a breather.

overall, i think we took the path less traveled.

we visited brendan at the shop.

...
and then we hiked back along the coast

a day...spent south of the city

on friday we took off to explore a bit south of us.
ultimately we had some items on our to-do list, but also wanted to enjoy the day without running around checking off our list.
so we took the day as it came, and had an enjoyable time along the way!
first stop...bear gultch.
just a little 5 mile run/hike, 1000 ft climb along the way.
i wish i could say i ran it all, but that would be far from the truth.
i hiked it.

second stop...wine tasting.

and then to palo alto in search for a frozen tea shop, which wasn't there anymore; but hey, a frozen yogurt shop took its place....and i like frozen yogurt...all good.
borders across the street from the yogurt shop, is going out of business, so we went and looked for books.
next stop, ikea...we needed more book cases...seriously,
we're going to own a fully library someday

and lastly, home...for a home cooked meal, of goodness.
spinach tortelinni, green salad and sun dried tomato chicken.
delish.
not a picture of me taken all day, which i am sure makes up for our last friday adventure when there were way more pictures of me than him.

a great day...felt good to get out of the city, and spend some time together!

the lake

the lake is where i clock most of my mileage
i enjoy that the lake is round...and therefore when i start running, there isn't a point when i have to turn around....i just keep running and eventually i'll end of right where i started.
this route for running is best for me, the lake makes it easy as i don't have think of anything but my breathing, my posture and my pace.

i enjoy my lake....and i love that sarah joined me for a run today.
i arrived a few minutes earlier than she did and found some awesome flowers...

post run...coffee at the beach
(sarah might be laughing at a serious cyclist with a stuffed animal on his helmet, or maybe she is laughing at the fact we can't see the sidewalk due to the amount of sand that has been blown up from shore...or maybe she is laughing at me because she didn't know i was taking her picture...its still up for debate)

and after the beach we went to get a delicious lunch...and i love this view
(yes....i take pictures while driving!)
