a day in our own city

warning: this post is picture heavy. you've been warned.

david and i decided to spend a day exploring our backyard as a part of our anniversary celebration.
it was a beautiful day in the city; and much to my surprise there were so many places we explored that dave hadn't ever been to...and myself as well.

for christmas my mom picked up a travel guide of "50 walks in sf" for dave; and we did 2 china town walks and then hiked across the city to complete a pacific heights walking tour!

one of the places i really wanted to go was the fortune cookie factory.
good thing the men out front pointed me to the door; as we were walking down an alley and could have easily passed this little establishment.
all the cookies were hand rolled, and it was 50 cents for a picture, but it had to be quick as there was a line of other waiting...so its a bit blurry.

from china town we went to north beach, and from there we traversed our way to the presidio

and then the lion street stairs...luckily, we went down, not up!

from the presidio we walked through fort mason, to ghiradelli square, along the embarcadero to the ferry building

dave wanted some traditional clam chowder in a boudin sourdough bread bowl

and i wanted chocolate... at thco

and then we made our way to the mission district...
the graffiti.....amazing artwork!
(its appreciated when its tasteful, and not on the mirror in my store)

cha cha cha...one of my favorite places for dinner!
the sangria...oh the sangria! delish!

dave agrees with me...

and we are on our way home, after a fabulous day

we truly played the part of tourists, we were even approached by some locals asking if we needed help! we had out our camera, dave's shoulder bag and our little walking tour guide cards...so much fun!
we're excited for our next day in the city adventure!

Awesome pictures! Makes me want to be a tourist in SF right now. Looks like the perfect day too! LOVED that people thought you were actual tourists AND that they stopped to see if you needed help :)

Awww I used to always take the Lyon stairs on my Saturday jog! Love that you guys included them on your tour. I always pretended to be in Italy when I jogged them (made me forget about the steepness=) Happy (late) Anniversary! Cha Cha Cha Sangria, mm mm mmm
