kona. 2011

hello hawaii!

we just got back from a little pre-holiday vacation.
both sets of parents, grandma, bro-in-law and his gf.
good times had by all...i'd love this to be our new November tradition.
skip out of town where its getting cold; and hang out on the warm beach for a week.
sounds like the best tradition to have on my calendar!

i've been a little overwhelmed with the amount of pictures to sort through
(there might be like 1200 of them)
and the lack of time i've had this week.
db and i arrived in SFO at 930pm sunday night, and were both out the door by 8am monday for work!
its been a busy week...but so worth it!
favorite moments
family kayaking...even grandma joined!
she did say, "this is the worst decision i've made all day"
and
she also asked, "is there a rescue boat?"
i'm super proud of her for joining in on the fun that day...she hates water, and doesn't know how to swim...but she got in the kayak and did it!

we saw wild dolphins.

went to captain cooks monument which is on british soil, so we couldn't dock our boats on shore; so we had to tie them up in the trees hanging over the shallow waters!

once at the monument, there was some fantastic snorkeling!

great sunsets

family dinners

i know its a little blurry, but i love that we are all in it, sitting around the table, and mr barry blowing out an unlit candle for his birthday platter of mrs barry's kona cookies. (no one had matches or a lighter!)
we celebrated his birthday while on the trip as well....very fun!

the golfers...aka the reason why this trip happened!

these two played some great courses with some fun friends!
the place where we all stayed was taken over by their golfing friends
it was fun to run into my parents friends around the condo complex and by the pool!
kayaking to the sea caves

we put on our life jackets just in case a wave pushed us into the rocks once we got into the cave...but luckily we weren't tossed from our boat!

great beaches

the barry rental car

we picked up my parents one day from their golfing and when we asked them what they'd like to do, they said, go to the beach!
they were super cute, body surfing and bobbing in the waves with dave and i.

my camera
i love time to take pictures and a beautiful place to take them!

dave and i took a day trip to the volcanos and also toured a coffee farm, those memories and pictures to be shared soon.
goodbye hawaii
this is what the sky looked like when we were in the air leaving kona.

till next time...beautiful island with great weather, great beaches and great memories!
till next time
